Spring Market Refresh: Comfort, Craft and Customization at High Point 2025

Each season at High Point Market reveals a new design story, and this spring was no exception. From the tactile richness of heritage craftsmanship to forward-thinking innovations in comfort and customization, our visit this year spotlighted standout pieces and on-the-rise trends that are already influencing our latest design work.

Comfort-First Design: From Cushions to Case Goods

Thayer Coggin delivered some of the most irresistible seating at Market, once again proving that luxury and lounge-worthy comfort can coexist. Their polyblend down cushions offered sink-in softness with resiliency, while fiber-down backs provided plush support.

Vanguard also leaned into comfort innovation. Their Majestic cushion features a core of high-density Ultracell polyurethane foam, wrapped in a blend down jacket with 50% continuous blown fiber and 50% blend down (90% duck feathers and 10% down), offering a semi-soft, hypoallergenic option. For firmer support, their Poly Dacron back cushions utilize polyurethane foam and polyester fibers.

Meanwhile, The MT Company brought practical luxury with their pre-washed, pre-shrunk slipcovers—perfect for families or vacation homes. Their Washable Wonders collection features fabrics that are machine-washable, combining casual styling with easy maintenance.

Craftsmanship Meets Technology

Abner Henry’s Met Corinthian collection is a collaboration inspired by the alluring architecture of The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Ohio-based Abner Henry, a 4th-generation Amish family company, offers over 600 wood finishes, 10 wood species, and 50 metal finishes, allowing for extensive customization. They have an on-site blacksmith shop and a user-friendly online ordering system, streamlining the customization process with a current lead time of approximately 10 to 12 weeks.

Hooker Furniture reminded us of their 100+ year legacy, while Uttermost showcased a fresh take on outdoor furniture, unveiling new collections designed to enhance outdoor living spaces.

Lighting & Innovation

We spotted cutting-edge integration of Lutron motorized shades and lighting tech across multiple showrooms. Notably, Corston Architectural Detail showcased refined British craftsmanship with seamless smart-home compatibility. Their thoughtful coordination of switches, sockets, and lighting fixtures—with finishes like antique brass and bronze—elevates both function and aesthetic. The pairing of their architectural hardware with Lutron systems illustrates how technology and design can truly synchronize.

Visual Comfort’s Bold New Chapter

New collaboration between Visual Comfort and Schumacher.

The collaboration between Visual Comfort and Schumacher introduced a range of designer lighting, lamps, and accessories that are as beautiful as they are timeless. Schumacher continues to uphold its passion for beauty and innovation, offering a wide array of fabrics, wallcoverings, and trims.

Material Trends We’re Loving

Color and texture ruled the season. Highlights included:

  • Greens—especially pistachio—emerged as the new neutral.

  • Rose and purple showed up in everything from upholstery to accessories.

  • Fringe, mohair, and fuzzy textiles brought a playful, sensory twist to even the most structured silhouettes.

  • An uptick in fabric-wrapped case goods and upholstered legs on side tables and coffee tables.

  • Nesting and bunching tables, some doubling as ottomans, offer practical flexibility for small-space living.

  • Textured wood finishes like wire-brushed surfaces and iron cage console bases added contrast and depth to otherwise soft interiors.

  • Seating shapes are evolving—think curved wingbacks, bolstered backs, and low silhouettes with unexpected detailing.

What We're Bringing Back

This market emphasized the harmony between comfort, craftsmanship, and cutting-edge customization. Whether it's a fiber-down cushion, a hand-forged metal base, or a bendable alabaster light fixture, each piece tells a story—and helps us tell our clients’ stories better.

Stay tuned as we integrate these inspirations into our upcoming projects—and if something caught your eye, let’s chat about how to bring it home.
